“The Mail Through History and History Via the Mail: A Fremont County Speaker Series” June 18th 6-7:00pm
The Riverton Museum is hosting Stan Grove for this Wyoming Community Bank Discovery Speaker Series on June 18th from 6-7pm.
Local philatelist Stan Grove traces the early history of Fremont County and some of its leading figures through a unique and extensive assemblage of postal artifacts, compassing the South Pass gold rush days, the establishment of military forts and Indian agencies, and the explosino of small post offices through the early 1900s. This history is contextualized by a broader sampling of Wyoming postal-history items.
